Mrs. Dorothy Cromer Styers, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at the Nursing Center at Oak Summit. She was born Jan. 13, 1922, in Forsyth County to Irvin B. and Reba A. Tuttle Cromer. Mrs. Styers was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. She was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. She loved Jeff Gordon of NASCAR and was a member of his fan club, along with a special friend, Adrienne Whitfield. Mrs. Styers was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, E.H. "Hub" Culler; and her second husband, Wesley A. Styers. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn C. Pope and husband, Wayne, and Cindy S. Metcalf; a son, Buxton "Alex" Styers; two grandchildren, James A. Metcalf and Waynett P. Webb; a great-grandchild, Brittany Spears; a great-great-grandchild, Aiden Gray Spears; two sisters, Lenola "Diddy" Rynn and husband, Tommy, and Audrey Knouse and husband, Doug; and two brothers, Billy Ray Cromer and wife, Mavareen, and Norris B. Cromer and wife, Rachel, all of Winston-Salem.
