WALNUT COVE, NC ~ William Grant Young, 52, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, of natural causes.
Born on Aug. 31, 1951, in Surry County, he was the son of Roscoe Foy and Juanita Hylton Young.
A loving son, daddy, husband, brother and friend to many, he will be missed by all who knew him. Grant was a faithful and devoted employee of Hanes Dye and Finishing for more than 31 years. He was also a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, on Hwy 772 in Pine Hall, where he sang in the choir.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 22 years, Marty Pittman Young; two loving sons, Zachary Grant and Matthew Alan Young, both of the home; his parents, Roscoe and Juanita Young of Walnut Cove; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Kathy Young and Joel and Martha Young, all of Walnut Cove; four nieces, Chrissie, Sarah, Annie Kate and Caroline Young; and a nephew, Jake Young.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Pine Hall. Pastor Tim Gentry Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
