Helen Miller Montgomery, 79, died Thursday morning, November 20, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born November 25, 1934 in Stokes County to Albert Augustus and Pearl Young Miller. Helen loved dearly and was a good person to all she met. She was a devoted wife and very family oriented. Mrs. Montgomery was a charter member of First Christian Church and continued to be very active as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Montgomery served as a choir member for 50 years, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Christian Women’s Fellowship member, and a deacon. She was an avid sports fan that included being catcher for the church softball team and loving all things Carolina Tar Hills. Helen was a member of The Home Demonstration Club of Walnut Cove.
A 2:00 pm funeral service will be held in Saturday, November 22, 2014 at First Christian Church with Rev. Pete Harris and Rev. Jim Cohn officiating. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove Cemetery.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Kiser and a brother, Robert Miller.
Helen is survived by her husband of 37 years, Chester of the home, one sister, one brother and many special nieces and nephews.
