Mr. John C. Young Jr., 70, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2015 at James Funeral Home Chapel in Huntersville with The Reverend Stephen Goode officiating. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 :00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Young was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He had taught Sunday school, served as a deacon and Children's Life Director at New Life Baptist Church. Mr. Young was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed painting landscapes and singing with his family at nursing homes. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. Young, Sr. and Connie Sinclair. Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 25 years, Blanche Irene Young of the home, daughter, Kim Young of Winston-Salem, step-daughters; Barbara Maner (Larry) of Midland, Teresa Dotson of New London, granddaughters; Kristi Hicks of Denton, Ali Russel of Albemarle, Molly Russel of Midland, Destiny Dotson, Courtney Dotson both of New London, sisters; Bunny Powell of Winston-Salem, Sonja Osborne (Jeff) of Lewisville, and his dogs, Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana.
