Mrs. Young died at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC. Born in Winston-Salem, she was the daughter of the late Carrie and Charles Louis Snider. After graduating from Gray High School, she worked in retail before her marriage. After marriage she served as a career homemaker and loving mother. As a lifelong member of Trinity Moravian Church, she taught Sunday School to its youngest children and was a leader of the Women's Fellowship Circle Number One. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Young Stewart and her husband Moir Rex Young.
Surviving are her daughter, Karen Egerton (Stuart) of Wilmington, North Carolina and a son, Rickey Young of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by her two grandchildren that she raised from an early age, Wendy Sealey Wrenn (Bill) of Lexington and Chris Stewart (Jennifer) of Winston-Salem. Other surviving grandchildren are Carrie and Charlotte Egerton of Wilmington, North Carolina and Keith Young of Winston-Salem and the US Navy. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Samantha Sealey of Lexington and Claire Stewart of Spring, Texas. Also surviving is her sister, Charlotte Stanfield of Winston-Salem.
